CCI SURVEY RESULTS

The City of Barry CCI Committee recently conducted a small community survey to start the community assessment process. The committee would like to thank the survey respondents and share results of the survey with the public.

 

Question 1: Gender - 132 Respondents
40.5%      Male

59.5%      Female

 

Question 2: Survey Respondents Age Distribution
12 to 18 years – 2% ** 71 students completed a separate youth survey
19 to 25 years – 7%

26 to 30 years – 9%

31 to 40 years – 20%

41 to 60 years – 42%

61 and over – 20%

 

Question 3: Why do you live in Barry?

Place of Employment               27.9%

Low Crime Rate                      20%

High Quality of Life                  13.2%

Quality of Schools                   8.9%

 

Question 4: What recreational opportunities would you use if they were available?

Walking/Biking Trails                41.7%

Outdoor Sports Complex         21.3%

Tennis Courts                          12.5%

Skateboarding Park                 8.3%

Rock Climbing Wall                 6.0%

We received several quality responses to this question. The following comments were the frequent answers to this question:

·          Lack of quality jobs(11)

·          Declining number of youth (and opportunities for youth)(10)

·          Houses in need of rehabilitation (5)

·          City Police Department reinstatement (5)

·          Lack of activities for our youth and elderly (5)

·          Attraction and Retention of Businesses (5)
